Welcome to Jere Whitson! We are very pleased to be able to have you visit
us at Jere Whitson, a terrific PreK- 4th grade school located in
Cookeville, Tennessee. We are a historic school, ethnically diverse and
student centered. We are proud of the Jere Whitson Wildcats! Some of the
things that make “learning an adventure” at JWES include: PALS, a lottery
funded after school program, 3 Preschool programs meeting the needs of at
risk students, strong ties between JWES students and the community and a
standards driven curriculum and learning environment.

JWES has a strong commitment to educating all students, has met AYP each
year, continues to advance student learning by exceeding TVAAS scores, and
makes above average scores on the Tennessee Report Card. We are the
recipients of several grants, including the second year of the Lottery
After School Programs, a Lowe’s $5,000 grant for gardening and of the
$250,000 Reading First grant.

It is my pleasure to have you visit our website. It is also my pleasure to
